Many municipalities are finding that wireless Internet access
is a way to enhance public safety and improve security surveillance
on a tight budget. As a bonus, high-speed Internet access in
public areas offers an attractive amenity for business people
and tourists, encouraging "dwell" time in downtown
retail and entertainment districts.
Traditionally however, wireless
networks have had to be installed within reach of a hard-wired
backhaul network. This required
pulling new fiber or Ethernet cable which, in a municipal environment,
is extremely expensive, time-consuming, disruptive, and downright
difficult.
Rightway Online is excited about the opportunity to
partner with municipalities who desire to deploy and implement
a wireless
mesh network in a controlled setting or on a much broader
scale.
Rightway Online has partnered with BelAir Networks to provide
wireless networking solutions built on a patented cellular
LAN architecture, which integrates wireless access with wireless
backhaul in an innovative multi-radio mesh to provide a high-capacity
wireless backbone.
The Rightway Online Municipal WiFi Solutions are based on a
scaleable wireless internetworking platform that can be used
to build large-scale
WiFi networks from single, private buildings to carrier grade,
city-wide metro networks.
The individual units or nodes are encased in a compact, environmentally
hardened outdoor package, and available in multiple configurations.
The units are designed to be deployed outdoors to provide WiFi
coverage in nearby buildings or over large outdoor areas. It
can be used as a standalone device, or as part of the patented
BelAir Networks multiple point-to-point wireless mesh.
Whereas the majority of WiFi networking equipment and networks,
are based on a single radio concept, the equipment used by Rightway
Online is uniquely positioned in the marketplace by being based
off a modular and flexible multi-radio/dual-radio/single-radio
concept which allows both scale and price goals to be achieved.
Upon the completion of the BelAir Network Training Program on May 12, 2005,
Rightway Online became the first and only VAR for BelAir Networks in South
Texas.
